If you’re setting up for an event on Saturday and packing away on Sunday, it’s worth asking about a weekend rate instead of assuming you need two separate full-day bookings.

JET’s Basic Audio Package starts at £139 per day, while our Standard and Pro Audio Packages are £162 and £175 respectively. For events involving dancing or bass-heavy music, adding suitable subwoofers can make a noticeable difference.

In some situations, several carefully positioned speakers will provide better results than one powerful system. JET’s Outdoor Event Package starts at £99 per day, but larger events may require a bespoke combination of equipment.
Best suited to: Outdoor announcements, community events and smaller public gatherings, with larger setups quoted individually.

Think live performances, festival stages and events with complex technical requirements.
Once you’re dealing with live bands, large audiences or demanding production requirements, the cost of sound equipment can increase considerably.
You may need additional speakers, monitors, microphones, mixing equipment, processing and experienced technicians.

What's Included in a PA System Hire?
This is one of the most important things to check when comparing prices.
A PA hire package might include speakers, stands, microphones, a mixing desk and the cables required to connect everything.
But there’s no universal definition of what a PA hire package must contain.
Some companies quote for individual speakers. Others bundle everything together. Some include setup automatically, while others charge separately.

Does PA System Hire Include Delivery and Setup?
Not necessarily. Delivery and setup are two separate services, and it’s worth understanding how they’re priced.
Dry hire
Equipment only, normally collected and operated yourself.
Delivered/setup hire
We bring it, install it, test it and collect from the venue afterwards.
Operated hire
Our technician/sound engineer remains for the event.

For example, if your equipment hire costs £175 and the venue is 15 miles away, the first 10 miles are free and the remaining five miles cost £15.
If you’re hiring £139 worth of equipment for a venue eight miles away, the delivery charge would be £24.
The £150 threshold applies to the equipment hire value before delivery and labour. Mileage is calculated one way, and the charge covers the agreed delivery service. Final delivery arrangements are confirmed when quoting.
Optional PA Setup
If you’d rather not deal with speaker stands, microphones, mixing desks and cables, we can handle the setup for you.
Some setups take very little time. More complex sound and lighting arrangements can take considerably longer.
If you also need someone to operate the sound system during your event, let us know when requesting a quote so this can be priced separately.
How to Avoid Paying More Than You Need To
A more expensive sound system isn’t automatically a better choice for your event.
In fact, a well-matched PA system can often deliver a better experience than a larger setup that’s poorly suited to the space.
Here are a few ways to get better value:
- Be clear about what you're using it for. Speeches, background music and a DJ set are very different requirements.
- Choose a package rather than unnecessary individual extras. A well-designed package may already include everything you need.
- Consider your venue. An indoor function room and an open field may need completely different arrangements.
- Check the delivery costs. A cheap headline hire rate isn't much use if delivery adds considerably more.
- Book for the right period. A weekend rate may make more sense if you're setting up and packing down on different days.
